Sporthund International is generously donating the helper equipment for the performance tests -- helper pants, jackets, sleeves for each helper & 2 blinds.
A number of very fine vendors has stepped up with some outstanding items for the Silent Auction. Check them out at the Silent Auction Page!
CHANGED!! The practice signup will be posted on Monday, April 26 at Midnight.
Same rules as a last year. However, we anticipate enough practice slots so each dog will have TWO opportunities to work with the helper.
The 2010 USA Sieger Show will be held in beautiful Geneva, Wisconsin. This idyllic resort are is a short drive from Chicago just across the Illinois/Wisconsin border.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all members of WUSV member organizations to participate in the 2010 USA Sieger Show. The Lake Geneva, Wisconsin area is truly a beautiful location.
The hotel, The Lodge at Lake Geneva, is going all out to accommodate the show participants. The show venue is located on the hotel grounds, just minutes from the guest rooms. The hotel is providing catered food right at the venue (including a full bar!).
Vendors are conveniently located right on the venue field between the rings and there is also vendor space in the main lobby. The hotel sits on a lake and excellent restaurants are on the hotel grounds. The Lake Geneva resort area features excellent shopping of all types, a wide assortment of restaurants and bars that appeal to all genres, and nightly entertainment.
I would like to extend a special thank-you to two individuals who have worked all year on preparing for this event: Mary Dygert, our show secretary, and Charlene Troyer, our local co-coordinator. The show could not be held without their hard work and the work of the Sieger Show Team, and the local and regional volunteers. Our organization is fortunate to have dedicated members that give countless hours and I would like to encourage all USA members to thank our volunteers for their efforts.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our judges; Senior USA Judge Johannes Grewe, USA Director of Judges Nathaniel Roque and SV Judge Hans Peter Schwimmer.
The German Shepherd is a versatile working dog with a rich history. We continue to use the guidelines implemented last year for the performance phase to better illustrate the working temperament and versatility of our wonderful breed. We will continue to make changes that improve the breed in all phases and your input is valued for future changes.
This show would not be a success without our members participating. I would like to thank each and every person that has taken the time and expense to enter the show. Please take this opportunity to enjoy this wonderful breed of ours, to renew friendships and make new friends. Most of all — Have fun with your dogs!
Good luck to all,
